“It is wise in your own life to be able to recognize and acknowledge the key thresholds; to take your time, to feel all the varieties of presence that accrue there; to listen inward with complete attention until you hear the inner voice calling you forward. The time has come to cross”
-John O’Donohue
You might be thinking I didn’t put a lot of effort naming my practice and took the easy way out by using my first name. Surprisingly it took me a while because I was looking for something catchy, poetic, therapeutically significant. Then, one day I realized it had been in front of me the whole time.
Vera, in the Russian origin, means “faith” or “truth”. Isn’t that part of what moves us towards therapy? Knowing that something is out of alignment, but not being entirely sure what…or how to change it. The pursuit to find what is true and right for you, at this stage in your life, will guide our work together. We’ll explore what feels authentic to you, aligned with your values, what drives you, and what may be holding you back from making and sustaining positive shifts.
When my parents chose my name, it was an intentional effort to find a name that could not be reduced to a nickname. I will honor that same perspective in our work together and will not reduce you to a singular event, diagnosis, or traumatic experience. You are so much more than that, and I believe that with hope, action, and integration, you can find the fullest expression of Yourself.
